Not only is Dr. Khan a highly respected board-certified periodontist who has been practicing since 2005, but she’s also a long-time faculty member at the University of Illinois, Chicago. On top of this, she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, something that is only achieved by the top 1/3rd of periodontists and dental implant specialists.

Becoming a periodontist requires years of education and training, which starts with a bachelor’s degree and a dental doctorate. After becoming a licensed dentist, which necessitates three years of extensive in-classroom and hands-on training, they must undergo additional training on dental implants, periodontal therapy, and the like to become a periodontist. Each year, they also need to complete hours of continuing education with professional organizations, like the American Academy of Periodontology, to stay abreast of the latest techniques and technology.
Dr. Khan is a board-certified periodontist with nearly two decades of experience. If that wasn’t impressive enough, she also is a faculty member at the University of Chicago-Illinois (UIC) College of Dentistry, an active participant in professional associations, including the American Dental Association and the Illinois State Dental Society, and a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology & Dental Implants
